RomAmerica, importer of Fine Porcelain Lace made by hand in Romania, was founded in 2000 by Calvin Spurlin of Somerville, Alabama. Stonewares and RomAmerica joined in 2002 to produce keepsake quality fragranced bisque and procelain lace designed for today's consumers. The Romanian Porcelain Lace and other porcelain products are included in the product line as RomAmerica. These are available as "white" to best show the "art of the lace", or they can be hand decorated. Often the porcelain items are decorated to match the bisque, creating a very interesting display of the soft, matt finish of the bisque combined with the rich gloss and intricate patterns of the delicate porcelain lace. Eastern Europe has long been the source for he finest procelain lace in the world. Stonewares - RomAmerica produces lace and other porcelain in a new small factory in Cluj, Romania. The talented artisans there are unparalleled in their ability to create fine pieces of art from tiny strips of porcelain.
