Stonewares, now located in Lee's Summit, Missouri, was founded in Texas by Rita O'Hara in 1975. Most of Stonewares' product line consists of hand cast bisque hearts, ovals, and a rectangle plaque. All of the castings are made by hand and polished to a fine finish. The high quality of the finished product could not be achieved were it not for the care taken in making of the bisque pieces themselves.

Bisque is kiln fired to a high temperature in the first step. The pieces are then hand decorated using fine china paint transfers and fired again to a cooler temperature. Hearts and ovals are adorned with colorful cords and ribbons for hanging. All bisque items mentioned are scented with pure essence oils which adds to their uniqueness. The re-fresher oils can be purchased from Stonewares or the consumer can use their favorite fragrance when needed. Keep in mind these are all Hand-Made pieces and are manufactured with great care to strict quality and artistic standards. All items have a custom designed gift tag with a brief statement of how it is made and directions to refresh the fragrance. Most retailers also appreciate their arrival pre-priced and bar coded.
